Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks seller-doer engineers: licensed Professional Engineers who are comfortable pitching testing programs to contractors and reviewing compaction or geotechnical letters. You balance business development with technical workload, maintaining client relationships while the lab and field staff are provided by the company.

Qualifications

Active PE license in the posting state or by comity within 90 days.
6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
Track record of bringing in work, or a credible plan to do so in this market.
Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review data, resolve issues, and seal reports/letters.
Direct technicians on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
