Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks an experienced seller-doer engineer who combines business development with technical workload. You will maintain client relationships, price and scope proposals, and seal geotechnical reports while coordinating with the in-house laboratory and field staff.

You bring a valid PE license, 6+ years in testing/geotechnical work, and a proven ability to win work and manage contracts.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in the state of posting or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Proven record or credible plan for bringing in work; ability to price, negotiate, and say no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients—general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms—for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms and convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects you win: review field and laboratory data, seal reports, and coordinate with the laboratory.
