Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed PE engineers who can blend business development with technical review, sealing, and project leadership. You will cultivate relationships, price proposals, and manage the full cycle from opportunity to signed work.

Travel to client offices and sites is expected; you will review lab and field data, seal reports, and coordinate with our laboratory team. A strong record in bringing in work and negotiating favorable contracts is required.

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil, geotechnical, or structural) in the posting state or able to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Proven ability to bring in work or a credible plan to do so in this market.
• Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and declining unfavorable contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms and convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review field and lab data, seal reports/letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors and coordinate with the lab on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
