Construction Material Testing seeks licensed Professional Engineers who thrive at the intersection of business development and technical engineering. You will manage client relationships, price and write proposals, and serve as engineer of record on projects you win.

You bring an active PE license and 6+ years in materials testing or geotechnical work, with a proven ability to bring in work and negotiate favorable contracts.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in the state of posting or eligibility by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection.
• Track record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so.
• Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects you win: review data, seal reports and letters, resolve issues.
• Direct technicians and inspectors and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
