Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers who can blend business development with technical workload. You will maintain client relationships, price and propose testing programs, and seal reports.

Expect travel and leadership of field staff, with the Sugar Land lab behind you and a broad portfolio of geotechnical and materials testing services. You will review field and laboratory data, resolve failing tests, and coordinate with the laboratory to meet project

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil, geotechnical, or structural) in the posting state, or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so in this market.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review data, resolve failing tests, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors; coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
