Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer to drive business development while delivering engineering rigor in materials testing, geotechnical services, and special inspection. You will build and manage client relationships, scope and price proposals, and seal reports on the projects you win.

The role requires travel to client sites, review of lab data, and coordination with a staffed lab in Sugar Land.

Qualifications

Active PE license in the posting state or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
Proven track record of winning work or credible plan to do so in this market.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a book of clients—general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms—for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
Serve as engineer of record on projects won: review field and laboratory data, resolve tests, seal reports and letters.
Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in the market.
