Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks licensed Professional Engineers who are comfortable in the office and field, pitching testing programs, reviewing compaction and geotechnical data, and sealing reports. You bring relationships and a stamp, while the company handles the lab, field staff, and quality system.

You will develop client books for materials testing, geographic expansion, and special inspection, while proposals are scoped, priced, and written.

Qualifications

Active PE license in civil, geotechnical, or structural engineering, in the posting state or by comity within 90 days.
6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibilities.
Proven ability to bring in work or a credible plan to do so in this market.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
Serve as engineer of record on projects you win: review field and laboratory data, resolve failures, seal reports and letters.
Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
Travel to client offices and jobsites as required.
