Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a licensed Professional Engineer to balance business development with technical workload. You will manage client relationships, review test data, seal reports, and lead projects from sales through final delivery.

Two to three days weekly are spent selling while the rest focuses on engineering reviews, scheduling, and ensuring quality across lab and field teams. Compensation combines base plus revenue sharing.

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil, geotechnical, or structural) in the state of posting, or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so in this market.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients—general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms—for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review field and laboratory data, resolve failing tests, seal reports.
• Direct technicians and inspectors; coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
