Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a seller-doer engineer with a PE license to grow our client base in materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services. You will balance business development with engineering work, sealing reports and leading project teams.

You will review field and lab data, negotiate terms, and coordinate with our laboratory and field staff. Travel to client sites and meetings is expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil/geotechnical/structural) in the posting state, or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Proven record of bringing in work or a clear plan to do so in this market.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects you win: review data, seal reports and letters, resolve issues.
• Direct technicians and inspectors; coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
