Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers to act as seller-doer engineers, combining business development with technical workload. You will maintain client relationships, scope and price proposals, and seal reports.

The role spans office discussions, site reviews, and coordination with our laboratory staff. Responsibilities include managing clients for testing and geotechnical services, reviewing data, and representing the firm at meetings and industry events.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in the posting state or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Record of bringing in work or a credible plan to generate it in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects you win: review data, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors; coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
