Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers (PE) to lead client relationships while executing technical work. You will manage a portfolio of projects for materials testing, geotechnical, and special inspection services, and you will seal reports and letters as engineer of record.

In this role you will balance business development with technical workload, pricing, and contract negotiations. Travel to client offices and sites is expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in the posting state (civil, geotechnical or structural).
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Track record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so in this market.
• Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and declining unfavorable contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects and seal reports/letters; review data and resolve issues.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner/pre-construction meetings and industry events in the market.
