Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers who are as comfortable in a contractor's office pitching a testing program as they are reviewing a compaction report or sealing a geotechnical letter. You balance business development with a technical workload and maintain client relationships while the company handles the lab and field staff.

You will lead proposals, review data, seal reports, and coordinate with the lab; travel to client sites is expected as required,

Qualifications

• Active PE license in the posting state or obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibilities.
• Proven ability to bring in work or a credible plan for obtaining new business in this market.
• Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and declining unfavorable contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record; review data, seal reports and letters.
• Lead project teams and coordinate with the laboratory; represent the company at meetings and industry events.
