Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers for a seller-doer role in the Phoenix market. You will cultivate client relationships, develop testing programs, and seal reports as the engineer of record.

The role blends business development with technical leadership in materials testing and geotechnical services. You will manage proposals, pricing, and contract terms while coordinating with an in-house laboratory and field technicians.

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil, geotechnical or structural) in the posting state or by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Proven ability to bring in work or have a credible plan to do so.
• Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and declining unfavorable contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients including general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms and convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review data, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in the market.
