Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking seller-doer engineers in Chandler, AZ who balance business development with technical workload. You will cultivate and manage client relationships in materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services, while providing engineering oversight and report sealing.

You bring an active PE license, a track record of winning work, and the ability to price and negotiate contracts. Travel and field work are expected as projects require.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in civil/geotechnical/structural (or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days).
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibilities.
• Proven ability to bring in work or present a credible plan to win business.
• Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and declining unfavorable contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms and convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review field and lab data, resolve failing tests, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects; coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
