UMass Memorial Health seeks a Patient Care Technician III to support the Emergency Room and inpatient units. The PCT III provides patient care under licensed staff, monitors vitals, performs EKGs and POC tests, assists with procedures, and helps ensure a safe environment for high-acuity patients.

Responsibilities include communication with RNs, observation of high-risk patients, and assisting in activities of daily living, patient transport, and equipment handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 1 year of acute care hospital experience or EMT/Paramedic experience.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Computer skills and EMR familiarity.
• Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.

Responsabilités

• Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding patient observations and changes.
• Maintains patient safety and de-escalation measures as directed.
• Assists with activities of daily living and patient mobility.
• Performs phlebotomy in applicable locations and handles specimen transport.
• Assists with treatments and setup, including IV/hemodynamic lines.
• Performs unit secretary duties and supports telemetry/remote monitoring as assigned.
