Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician III (PCT III) for the Emergency Room and related units. The role supports licensed clinicians, provides direct patient care, and helps with safety, documentation, and basic procedures. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English clearly.
• Medical terminology knowledge and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under licensed clinician direction.
• Assist with daily living activities and safety.
• Take and record vital signs and measurements.
• Perform EKGs, POC tests, and specimen handling per standards.
• Support unit operations and communicate with the care team.
• Maintain patient comfort, documentation, and equipment readiness.
