Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC is seeking a Test Engineering Manager to lead the Manufacturing Test Engineering team in Newark, CA. The role focuses on developing, implementing, and optimizing PCBA test processes—Functional Test, ICT, and Flying Probe—and ensuring robust test coverage and product quality.

The ideal candidate will have extensive PCBA testing expertise, prior engineering leadership experience, and a track record of improving test efficiency and yields in a fast-paced electronics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related technical field.
• 8+ years in test engineering, preferably in EMS/PCBA/electronics manufacturing.
• 3+ years leading or managing engineering teams.
• Strong expertise in PCBA Functional Testing, ICT, and Flying Probe Testing.
• Experience developing test programs, fixtures, validation, and processes.
• Understanding of electronics circuits, PCBA design, troubleshooting, and manufacturing test methods.
• Experience supporting NPI, ramp-up, and high-volume manufacturing.
• Proven ability to lead projects, mentor talent, and manage priorities.
• Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Test Engineers with clear priorities and timelines.
• Define test engineering strategies, standards, and best practices across programs.
• Oversee PCBA testing solutions including Functional Test, ICT, and Flying Probe testing.
• Develop and optimize test programs, fixtures, procedures, and methodologies.
• Collaborate with NPI, Production, Quality, and Design to ensure production readiness and issue resolution.
