Job summary

Ashton North LLC in Newark, CA is seeking an experienced Test Engineering Manager to lead the Manufacturing Test Engineering team. The role focuses on PCBA testing across Functional Test, ICT, and Flying Probe, driving robust test coverage and production readiness.

You will mentor engineers, define test strategies, collaborate with NPI, Quality, Design, and Program Management, and push continuous improvement to boost yields and cycle times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in test engineering in EMS/PCBA/electronics manufacturing.
• 3+ years leading engineering teams.
• Strong expertise in PCBA Functional Testing, ICT, and Flying Probe.
• Experience with test program development and fixtures.
• Understanding of PCBA design and manufacturing test methods.
• Experience with NPI, ramp-up, and high-volume production.
• Proven ability to lead projects and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Test Engineers, establishing priorities and performance expectations.
• Define test engineering strategies, standards, and best practices across programs.
• Manage resources and deliverables to support production requirements and customer commitments.
• Oversee development and maintenance of PCBA testing solutions (Functional Test, ICT, Flying Probe).
• Guide test program development, fixtures, procedures, and methodologies for robust coverage.
• Partner with NPI, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Design Engineering, and PM to ensure production readiness.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions to improve test reliability and yields.
• Drive improvements in test cycle time, yields, and retest rates.
