Job summary

The Northeast Arc helps people with disabilities become full participants in the community, choosing how to live, learn, work, socialize and play. The Skills Trainer plays a meaningful, community-facing role within Northeast Arc's Personal Care Management (PCM) program, supporting that mission daily.

You will assist in PCA applications, guide the process, and provide hands-on education so clients can manage their own care at home with greater independence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; BA/BS in Human Service field preferred.
• Prior experience serving individuals with disabilities preferred; bilingual a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, plus excellent communication, organization, and data-entry abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assess personal care needs with a nurse/therapist and prepare PCA applications.
• Teach clients how to hire, train, supervise, and pay PCAs once approved.
• Provide PCA program education, including payroll and paperwork processes.
• Conduct home visits to assess needs and deliver in-person support.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the program database.
• Support clients through ongoing case management and changes in care needs.
• Collaborate with PCM team to ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Attend department meetings and trainings related to the PCA program.
