Job summary

The Northeast Arc helps people with disabilities become full participants in the community; choosing for themselves how to live, learn, work, socialize and play. The Skills Trainer plays a meaningful, community-facing role within Northeast Arc's Personal Care Management (PCM) program, directly supporting that mission every day.

The PCM program serves about 5,000 individuals in northeastern Massachusetts, Greater Boston, and the Metro West area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; BA/BS in Human Service field preferred.
• Prior experience providing service to individuals with disabilities preferred; bilingual a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; excellent communication and organization.

Responsibilities

• Assess personal care needs and prepare PCA applications for submission.
• Teach clients how to hire, train, supervise, and pay their PCAs after approval.
• Provide skills training for PCA program participants and educate on all phases of PCA.
• Conduct home visits to assess needs and provide in-person support.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the program database.
• Support clients and surrogates through ongoing case management.
• Collaborate with PCM team to ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Participate in department meetings and trainings related to the Medicaid PCA Program.
