Job summary

Intuit, Inc. is seeking a Lead Tax Processor and Subject Matter Expert to drive payroll tax operations in a technical leadership capacity. You will own complex resolutions, approve SOPs, coach staff, and build workforce capacity.

This remote role offers flexible hours with a minimum of 20 hours per week and overtime eligibility. You will serve as the primary real-time expert for TP1-TP3, govern SOPs/KBs, and lead coaching, huddles, and performance reviews to strengthen team capability while

Qualifications

4+ years in payroll tax with complex defect resolution, notices, and multi-state amendments.
Lead, senior specialist, or SME with coaching or mentoring junior staff.
Advanced writing to create and review SOPs and technical docs for tax processors.
Ownership of SLAs and identification of red flags to remove workflow barriers.
Strong data-driven communication with leadership and cross-functional teams.
Experience in contact center, customer service, or back-office operations.
Familiarity with AI tools to improve daily tasks and processes.

Responsibilities

Serve as primary real-time technical expert for TP1, TP2, TP3 staff.
Own authoring, review, and approval of SOPs and KB articles.
Conduct quarterly coaching sessions using SBIC feedback model.
Lead or support team huddles and Daily Stand-Ups; back-up facilitator.
Oversee WIP, backlog, and aging reports; advise staffing adjustments.
Resolve severe payroll tax notices and IRS/state inquiries.
Approve complex amended Federal/State returns with audit trails.
Identify systemic trends and risks; communicate findings with data-driven recommendations.
Represent team in cross-functional meetings with compliance focus.
