Job summary

Spang & Company, based in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to handle payroll for hourly and non-exempt staff in a manufacturing environment. The role focuses on accurate timekeeping, payroll processing, PTO tracking, and compliance with applicable regulations.

The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in Accounting or Business, at least two years of related experience, and proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office. Experience with UKG payroll software is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; bachelor’s preferred.
• At least two years of related experience in accounting or payroll.
• Payroll processing experience is a plus.
• ERP-driven manufacturing environment experience is a plus.
• Proficient with Excel and Microsoft Office; able to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Process hourly and non-exempt payrolls for employees.
• Maintain payroll records and timekeeping system; track PTO balances.
• Report overtime totals weekly and assist annual reporting.
• Monitor payroll tax liabilities and file related reports.
• Handle mail and serve as Notary Public.
