Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Manager in Ohio to oversee payroll administration across multiple U.S. locations, ensuring accurate, compliant processing.

The role also administers employee benefits and serves as a key resource for payroll, benefits, compliance, reporting, and issue resolution. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in payroll and benefits, strong regulatory knowledge, and ADP Workforce Now experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years payroll experience in a multi-location environment.
  • 3+ years benefits administration.
  • Advanced proficiency with ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple locations with regulatory compliance.
  • Review inputs and resolve discrepancies for hires, terminations, changes, overtime, bonuses, PTO, deductions.
  • Coordinate with facility contacts for accurate, timely payroll processing.
  • Oversee payroll tax reporting, reconciliations, year-end processing, deductions, filings.
  • Prepare payroll, benefits, and management reports; partner with Finance on reconciliations.
  • Respond to employee payroll questions while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Serve as payroll SME and identify process improvements.
  • Administer employee benefit programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, flexible plans).
  • Partner with brokers/carriers/TPAs on renewals, plan changes, and employee issues.
  • Reconcile benefit invoices; ensure elections and deductions are accurate.
  • Coordinate leaves of absence (FMLA, disability, bereavement, military).
  • Support ACA, COBRA, and 401(k) administration and audits.
  • Support Open Enrollment and related communications and system updates.
  • Maintain accurate employee, payroll, and benefits data in ADP Workforce Now.
  • Develop and maintain reporting; support audits and documentation.

Job Details
Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple locations while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Review payroll inputs and resolve discrepancies involving new hires, terminations, compensation changes, overtime, bonuses, PTO, deductions, and other adjustments.
  • Coordinate with facility contacts to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Oversee payroll tax reporting, reconciliations, year-end processing, deductions, and required filings.
  • Prepare payroll, benefits, and management reports and partner with Finance on payroll reconciliations.
  • Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve issues while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Serve as the payroll subject matter expert and identify opportunities to improve processes and system utilization.
  • Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and flexible benefit plans.
  • Partner with brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators on renewals, plan changes, employee issues, and ongoing benefits administration.
  • Reconcile benefit invoices and ensure benefit elections and payroll deductions are accurate.
  • Coordinate and track leaves of absence, including FMLA, disability, bereavement, and military leave.
  • Support ACA, COBRA, and 401(k) administration, including enrollment, loans, rollovers, withdrawals, and audit requirements.
  • Support annual Open Enrollment, employee communications, and related system updates.
  • Maintain accurate employee, payroll, and benefits data within ADP Workforce Now.
  • Develop and maintain reporting, support internal and external audits, and maintain required documentation.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, Operations, and facility leadership to resolve issues and improve processes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of payroll experience in a multi-location environment.
  • 3+ years of experience administering employee benefits.
  • Advanced proficiency with ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and requirements.
  • Experience with payroll tax reporting and year-end processing.
  • Working knowledge of ACA, COBRA, FMLA, and 401(k) administration.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential employee and compensation information with discretion.
  • Ability to work independently, manage strict payroll deadlines, and collaborate effectively across multiple locations and departments.
