Job summary

Mews is seeking a PayOps Analyst to be the operational heartbeat of Payment Operations. You will monitor payment flows, manage incidents end to end, and provide insights to keep merchants paid accurately and on time.

This role emphasizes proactive problem solving, optimizing runbooks, and leveraging AI tools (Claude) to reduce manual tasks while increasing speed and accuracy in incident handling.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of payments, operations, or fintech.
• Hands-on experience with PSPs, ideally Stripe and/or Adyen; Airwallex or equivalent is relevant.
• Strong understanding of card acquiring, payout processes, and authorisation flows.
• Experience with operational dashboards; familiarity with Power BI or Databricks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor payout timeliness, authorisation success rates, SLA breaches, dispute readiness, and fee accuracy.
• Log and manage incidents in the Jira Service Portal, ensuring ownership and SLA tracking.
• Perform root cause analysis on recurring failures and feed insights to PayOps Manager.
• Prepare weekly KPI reporting and monthly PSP or vendor performance summaries.
• Maintain runbook library for recurring issues and standard tasks.
