Job summary

Mews is seeking a PayOps Analyst to be the operational heartbeat of its Payment Operations. You’ll monitor payout flows, manage incidents end-to-end, and provide insights to keep merchants paid accurately and on time.

This role requires quick thinking under pressure, improving processes over time, and leveraging AI tools like Claude to reduce manual work while elevating decision-making. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and help implement scalable playbooks in a fast-growing

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in payments, operations, or fintech.
• Hands-on experience with PSPs, Stripe and/or Adyen; Airwallex or equivalents.
• Strong understanding of card acquiring, payout processes, and authorisation flows.

Responsibilities

• Monitor payout timeliness, authorisation success rates, and SLA breaches.
• Log and manage incidents in the Jira Service Portal from triage to close.
• Perform root cause analysis on recurring failures and escalate where needed.
• Support readiness checklists for PSP onboarding, new markets, and feature launches.
• Coordinate with Customer Support, Product, FinTech, and PSPs to resolve escalations quickly.
• Prepare weekly KPI reports and monthly PSP/vendor performance summaries.
• Maintain runbooks for recurring issues and standard tasks.
• Flag recurring incidents into the Operational Risk Register.
• Draft first-line merchant communications for outages with PayOps Manager approval.
• Validate data quality during incident handling.
