WEX is seeking a Senior Director, Payments SRE to lead reliability across its payments platform. You will define the SRE strategy, elevate observability, automate incident response, and drive capacity planning using AI-driven analytics.

You will partner with engineering, product, and executives to scale services with high availability and low latency. The role demands extensive leadership of distributed teams and hands-on architectural influence, including regulatory compliance and disaster

Qualifications

• 15 years of software engineering experience with leadership experience.
• Deep experience in cloud-native architectures and large-scale distributed systems.
• Deep expertise in system design, automation, and performance optimization.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, service meshes, and distributed tracing.
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with monitoring and logging platforms (Grafana, ELK, Splunk).
• Strong understanding of database reliability engineering and networking/storage architectures.
• Proven ability to lead high-availability, low-latency systems and teams.

Responsabilités

• Set the vision and strategy for SRE across reliability, observability, automation, and incident management.
• Scale the SRE function across multiple payments domains and lead other SRE managers and ICs.
• Develop innovative solutions to reliability challenges in high-availability, low-latency systems.
• Drive a culture of reliability and continuous improvement across engineering teams.
• Ensure business continuity, disaster recovery, and compliance.
• Represent the SRE organization in executive forums and industry events.
• Drive hiring strategy and long-term team capability growth.
