Job summary

WEX is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to focus on observability, incident response, reliability and performance within the Platform Reliability org. You’ll collaborate with engineering teams to drive complex projects and improve service quality for corporate payments systems.

The role demands learning new technologies, thriving under pressure, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment. Eligible for 24x7 rotations and ongoing improvements to tooling and processes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a Site Reliability Engineer or equivalent.
• 2+ years development experience in at least one major language.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP and cloud-native tooling.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with observability and database technologies.

Responsibilities

• Dig into code, networks, OS, or storage to fix complex issues.
• Develop automation and monitoring to ensure reliability.
• Participate in incident response and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to 24x7 SRE rotations and escalation workflows.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with dev teams to meet operational requirements.
• Improve processes to boost reliability and efficiency.
• Stay current with industry trends and technologies.
