Job summary

MEMIC is seeking a Claim Financial Support Specialist I to perform essential financial and clerical tasks, including processing checks and managing vendor relationships. You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support various functions and ensure accurate payments.

The role requires strong numerical and analytical abilities, proficiency with MS Office tools, and experience in customer service or finance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience in customer service and/or finance.
• Ability to quickly learn multiple computer applications, along with typing speed and accuracy.
• Solid understanding of financial procedures with strong analytical and research skills.
• Demonstrates initiative on projects involving communication with internal and external customers.
• Effective collaboration with organizational team members and clear written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the CXPCHECK diary and Stop Pays inbox, handling related workflows such as pay code changes, stop payment requests, cashed check copy requests, trace identifications, and payment movements.
• Researches and reconciles payment issues related to stop payments and undeliverable checks within claims and vendor financial systems; updates vendor systems as needed.
• Accurately inputs financial data into the claims system, focusing on reissuing payments for timely processing.
• Leads MEMIC’s annual W-9 collection project, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
• Facilitates processing of internally printed checks, ensuring correct configuration in the claims system and proper mailing.
• Collaborates with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve inquiries and discrepancies of varying complexity with high customer service standards.
• Supports the Financial Specialist II in duties and provides coverage on trained tasks as needed.
