Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Transporter for the evening shift to support patient mobility across the hospital. Responsibilities include transporting patients, assisting nursing staff with transfers, and delivering beds and equipment while maintaining safety and infection control standards.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, BLS within 6 months, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Escort ambulatory patients and transport by wheelchair, stretcher or bed.
• Assist nursing staff with lateral transfers and positioning.
• Deliver beds, stretchers, wheelchairs and related equipment.
• Transport patient specimens, medical records and materials according to infection control guidelines.
• Maintain transport logs and sanitization of equipment and vehicles.
