Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Patient Transporter for the 2 - Evening Shift (12:30PM - 9PM). This non-exempt role involves transporting patients, assisting nursing staff with transfers, and delivering equipment and materials across hospital departments.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, BLS certification within 6 months, and strong English communication and customer service skills; hospital experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Escort ambulatory patients and transport by wheelchair, stretcher, or bed with patient safety.
• Assist nursing staff with patient transfers using lift devices and infection control practices.
• Deliver beds, stretchers, and transport equipment; clean and sanitize transport vehicles.
• Transport patient specimens and materials between departments per guidelines.
• Deliver other materials such as medical records, pharmaceuticals, and reports as needed.
