Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Transporter to move patients and equipment throughout the hospital. This on-call role requires night shift work, with 8-hour blocks, and a non-exempt status.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months of hire is preferred.
• Six months of experience in a hospital environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort ambulatory patients by wheelchair, stretcher, or bed and verify patient identifiers prior to transport.
• Assist nursing staff with patient movement and positioning using lift devices; follow infection control procedures for isolation precautions.
• Deliver beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, and related equipment; assist in cleaning transport equipment; sanitize transport vehicles.
