Job summary

PathGroup is hiring a Patient Services Technician to perform daily patient service activities in the PSC or in-office setting. The role involves professional interaction with clients and patients, accurate specimen collection, and strict adherence to established procedures to maintain specimen integrity.

The position requires handling venipuncture and other specimen collection with patient calmness and accuracy, as well as data entry and compliance with privacy and lab protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Phlebotomist certification preferred (required in Louisiana).
• At least 1 year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers and maintains courteous service.
• Ensures phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens and explains venipuncture procedure clearly to patients.
• Disposes of biohazardous materials per laws and policies.
• Records patient, specimen, and billing information accurately in the systems.
• Matches requisitions to specimens and handles labeling, centrifugation, and storage as required.
• Maintains daily logs and monthly statistics; performs basic clerical duties.
