Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge of reading, writing, math and computer skills.
• Two years of experience in a medical office or similar setting.
• HIPAA knowledge and patient privacy awareness.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Strives for excellent customer service; welcomes patients, families and visitors, greets customers and answers calls promptly.
• Verifies and updates patient information; checks insurance coverage and correct provider assignment.
• Schedules patient appointments for all providers using EMR and practice management systems.
• Registers new patients and explains policies; collects emails for portal signup when available.
• Schedules follow-up appointments, tests and procedures; collects copays and processes referrals.
