Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of reading, writing, mathematical and computer skills.
• Keyboarding skills needed to register patients and other office tasks.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and office policies commonly gained via medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge and welcome all patients, families and visitors to the practice and greet callers promptly.
• Verify and update patient information, confirm insurance coverage and provider assignment.
• Schedule patient appointments across providers using multiple systems.
• Register new patients and explain policies, collect emails for portal registration if available.
• Collect copayments, process referrals, obtain authorizations as needed and balance cash.
• Maintain and file documents, manage patient records, and handle communications.
