Job summary

MyMichigan Health in the Midland area seeks a friendly front desk receptionist to support patient flow across Midland, Freeland, Auburn, and Bay areas. You will answer phones, schedule appointments, register patients, verify insurance information, collect payments and may assist with tests and referrals.

As the initial contact, you will demonstrate care, professionalism and strong customer service to a diverse patient population.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of reading, writing, mathematical and computer skills.
• Keyboarding skills for patient registration and office tasks.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office policies and procedures.
• Typically two years experience in a medical office or similar setting.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
• Ability to work in a team and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and patient privacy standards.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, answer phones, and schedule appointments.
• Verify patient insurance information and register patients.
• Schedule tests and referrals and manage demographic data.
• Process copayments and balance cash drawer at day end.
• Coordinate front office with clinical staff and providers.
• Maintain patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Educate patients about policies and patient portal access.
