Strong communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills are essential. You will work within the EHR system per department protocols to ensure accurate patient records and smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and experience with computer systems or web-based applications.
• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program.
• Medical Assistant certification or eligibility listed by CHI Health.
• Experience in a patient-focused healthcare environment or high-volume contact center.

Responsibilities

• Manage phone customer service and scheduling for multiple providers.
• Handle patient information, demographics, insurance verification, and pre-registrations.
• Process referrals and authorizations, and perform clerical tasks per protocols.
• Document in Electronic Health Records within MA scope and department guidelines.
• Communicate results and coordinate with physicians' offices and other providers.
• Screen and direct calls, scheduling according to urgency and criteria.
