Job summary

St. Elizabeth Physicians is seeking a Patient Service Representative I to collect accurate demographic and insurance information and support the revenue cycle. The role may involve collecting payments, data entry in EMR, scheduling tests and referrals, and providing friendly customer service.

Compliance with OSHA and HIPAA is required. Responsibilities include appointment scheduling, verifying demographics, coordinating with physicians, and ensuring timely processing of referrals and paperwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Desired: Medical Office Experience
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
• 1-year experience in a customer service role

Responsibilities

• Schedules appointments for patients by phone or in person.
• Verifies patient demographics and current insurance information.
• Collects co-pays, self pays, and outstanding balances.
• Enter and verify data in EMR and practice management systems.
• Provide customer service and assist with referrals and scheduling.
• Prepare new patient records and answer phones within three rings.
