Job summary

The role may also handle payments, scheduling, data entry into EMR, and referrals, with a focus on customer service and HIPAA/OSHA compliance. You'll schedule appointments, verify demographics and insurance, collect co-pays, and ensure up-to-date patient records for charge entry.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Desired: Medical Office Experience
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Schedules appointments for patients by phone or in person.
• Verifies patient demographic information.
• Verifies current insurance and updates in the PM and EMR systems.
• Collects co-pays, self pays, and outstanding balances.
• Ensures all information on the patient encounter is complete and ready for charge entry.
• Completes referral and pre-certification processes as needed.
• Files and distributes patient information and incoming mail.
• Provides courteous customer service to patients.
