Job summary

Foot & Ankle Specialists of New Jersey is seeking a Medical Receptionist to greet patients and handle calls and in-person visits, coordinating appointments and documentation to support quality patient care.

You will maintain patient records, assist with forms and billing information, inform patients about procedures, and safeguard confidentiality to ensure a smooth, compliant healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis.
• Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications.
• Working knowledge of healthcare insurance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients according to established protocols.
• Assist patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation including medical insurance and ensure patient information is accurate including billing information.
• Inform patients of medical office procedures and policy.
• Maintain and manage patient records via scanning of documents.
• Answer incoming calls and assist with inquiries.
• Schedule patient appointments/re-scheduling.
• Collect co-pays and payments.
• Obtain external medical reports as required by medical professionals.
• Respond and comply to requests for information.
• Complete other clerical duties as assigned.
• Maintain stock of forms and office supplies.
• Ensure reception area is well maintained.
• Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality.
