Job summary

Care First Rehab, a therapist-owned rehabilitation provider in Cary, NC, seeks a Front Office / Patient Services Specialist. This in-person, full-time role handles patient intake, insurance coordination, and appointment management while supporting the clinical team.

The position requires at least 1 year in medical office scheduling, EMR familiarity (Epic, AthenaHealth, WebPT), and strong communication. Flexible hours include evenings; benefits and a patient-centered environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in administrative support and medical office scheduling.
• Ability to work until 6 PM Monday–Thursday and 8 AM–5 PM on Fridays.
• Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, WebPT).
• Proficient computer skills and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for new and returning patients.
• Collaborate with the billing department for insurance verification, authorizations, and billing coordination.
• Work with the home care scheduler to manage appointments.
• Educate patients and families on insurance coverage and the scheduling process.
• Collect copays and discuss financial arrangements with patients/families.
• Support therapists with patient-related tasks as needed.
• Oversee daily front office operations and administrative duties.
