Job summary

Under the Practice Manager, you will welcome patients, handle check-in/out, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and maintain accurate demographics and billing documents.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in a large complex healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of third-party payors including federal, state, and private health plans.
• Excellent communication skills and customer service, in person and over the phone.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing.
• Experience using multiple computer systems during calls.
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Complete patient check-in/check-out procedures.
• Schedule and coordinate appointments.
• Verify insurance coverage and authorizations.
• Update and maintain patient demographic information.
• Audit billing documents for accuracy.
• Manage appointment dispositions.
• Collect co-payments.
• Manage petty cash drawer.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, staff, and UC San Diego Health departments.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
