You will greet patients, process check-ins/outs, schedule appointments, verify insurance, update demographics, and assist with billing accuracy.

Qualifications

Three years of related experience in a large healthcare setting.
Strong knowledge of third-party payors including federal, state, and private health plans.
Excellent customer service & communication, in person and over the phone.
Ability to work in an interactive environment and maintain confidentiality with patient information.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
Complete patient check-in and check-out procedures.
Schedule and coordinate appointments.
Verify insurance coverage and authorizations.
Update and maintain patient demographic information.
Audit billing documents for accuracy and completeness.
Manage appointment dispositions.
Collect co-payments.
Monitor petty cash drawer.
Collaborate closely with Center physicians, nurses, staff, and other UC San Diego Health departments.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
