Job summary

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab is seeking a Patient Services Representative to greet incoming patients and families, manage front desk operations, verify insurance details, collect demographics, and schedule appointments across the clinic.

You will support seamless patient flow, ensure accurate data entry, and uphold the organization’s vision and core values of excellence, collaboration, and compassion in daily interactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College or post-high school technical training is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a customer service or general office role with increasing responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily Front Desk operations: answer calls, schedule appointments, register patients, and manage outpatient schedule.
• Facilitate patient check-in with registration, verify insurance information, collect demographics, and ensure form accuracy.
• Identify and resolve patient and family issues and ensure timely follow-up.
• Post patient payments, issue receipts, and complete cash reports for daily/monthly accounting.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and allocate patients into available time slots per clinician templates.
