Qualifications

  • At least 3 years in customer service or office with increasing responsibility.
  • Understanding of healthcare operations and basic health-insurance guidelines incl. HMOs.
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, including email.
  • Problem-solving, diplomatic and efficient issue handling.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-through, and active listening.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel; basic PowerPoint.
  • Experience with common office equipment and multi-line phones.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily clinic and front desk duties: answer calls, place outbound calls, monitor voicemail, and schedule appointments.
  • Register patients and verify insurance, collect demographic data and ensure registration accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve patient/family issues and follow up to ensure resolution.
  • Process patient payments, issue receipts, and prepare cash reports.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and allocate slots per clinician templates.
  • Scan and fax patient documents as required.
  • Perform other duties in the best interest of the organization.

Job Summary

The Patient Services Representative greets and responds to the needs of incoming patients and families, facilitates the flow of patient volume through check‑in, check‑out, scheduling appointments, and other front desk operations, and collects patient demographic and insurance information.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily clinic and front desk duties, including answering inbound calls, placing outbound calls, monitoring voicemail, and scheduling appointments.
  • Register patients and verify insurance coverage, collecting demographic data and ensuring completeness and accuracy of registration forms.
  • Identify and resolve patient and family issues, following up to ensure resolution.
  • Process patient payments, issue receipts, and prepare daily and monthly cash reports.
  • Schedule follow‑up appointments and allocate patients into available time slots based on clinician templates and protocols.
  • Scan and fax patient documents as required.
  • Perform any other duties assigned in the best interest of the organization.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (college or post‑high school technical training desired).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a customer service or general office environment with increasing responsibility.
  • Understanding of healthcare operations and basic health‑insurance guidelines, including HMOs.
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills for daily interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, including consistent email communication and timely, accurate information relay.
  • Problem‑solving abilities, diplomatic and efficient handling of issues.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, follow‑through, and active listening.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; basic proficiency in PowerPoint.
  • Experience with moderately complex computer PC software and office equipment (photocopier, printer, fax machine, scanner, calculator, multi‑line phone).
Working Conditions

Normal office environment with minimal exposure to dust or extreme temperature.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $19.00 per hour.
