Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-3 years of medical business office experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and complete full registration for patient appointments with attention to policy and detail.
• Initiate pre-registration and ensure demographic insurance information is accurate.
• Verify insurance information, benefits, and referral details.
• Obtain legal photo ID and insurance card(s) and validate patient identity and coverage.
• Adhere to HIPAA standards for patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Ensure smooth patient flow through the clinical care process.
• Provide information on appointments and payment policies (records, parking, charges, cancellations).
• Provide upfront financial counseling and identify funding resources; establish payment plans.
• Advise patients of financial obligations and collect funds per guidelines.
• Act as liaison/advocate for patients, physicians, and staff to facilitate care.
• Notify parties of appointment times, referral criteria, insurance verification, and prior authorizations.
• Train other patient services representatives and provide excellent customer service.
• Comply with company policies and standards.
