Job summary

Eye Associates of Vineland, part of Prism Vision Group, is seeking a Patient Service Representative for an onsite, non-exempt role in Vineland, NJ with occasional travel to other locations.

The PSR will handle inbound/outbound patient interactions, scheduling, registrations, insurance verification, and basic financial counseling, ensuring HIPAA compliance and smooth patient flow across the clinical care process.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in a patient-facing healthcare or customer service role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and complete full registration for patients requesting appointments, adhering to scheduling policies.
• Initiate pre-registration and ensure demographic and insurance information is current.
• Verify insurance information, benefits, and referral requirements.
• Obtain ID and insurance cards, verify patient identity and coverage before services.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and protect patient privacy.
• Facilitate smooth patient flow through the clinical care process.
• Provide information on appointments and payment policies to patients.
• Offer upfront financial counseling and discuss alternate funding resources and payment plans.
• Explain financial obligations and collect funds per guidelines.
• Act as liaison for patients, physicians, and staff to resolve care delivery issues.
• Notify parties of appointment times, referral criteria, insurance verification, and prior authorizations.
• Train other Patient Service Representatives and deliver excellent customer service.
• Comply with company policies and standards.
