Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Patient Services Associate (PSA) for the CPUP department at PAH Farm Journal Building in Philadelphia. The PSA will support patient/customer-focused care, manage patient arrivals/departures, handle calls, schedule appointments, update insurance information, and perform point-of-service tasks in an EMR-driven environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years of medical office experience or 4 years of customer service experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of medical office experience, or 4 years of customer service experience required.
• Advanced degrees may be considered in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones in a timely manner and route requests appropriately.
• Schedule patient appointments following established protocols.
• Collect copays and ensure accurate payment records.
• Update patient insurance/billing information in the EMR.
• Assist in arriving/departing activities and check-out procedures.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards (HIPAA, etc.).
