Job summary

Florida Atlantic University’s FAU Medicine – Galen Building in Boca Raton seeks a Patient Services Representative to handle inbound/outbound calls, schedule appointments, verify demographics, and provide friendly clerical support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 4 years of professional/specialized experience required.
• Experience working in clinical practice preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR and medical billing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills are required.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Answer all incoming calls and route to appropriate personnel; take messages and send tasks as necessary.
• Schedule, confirm, and cancel patient appointments; reschedule as requested.
• Obtain and update demographic information (address, phone, insurance).
• Inform caller of items to bring to appointment including insurance card and New Patient paperwork.
• Triaging calls and escalating to Medical Assistant/Nurse or leadership as needed.
• Remind patients to arrive 15–30 minutes early to complete paperwork.
