Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalency required.
• 3 years directly related experience required.
• Knowledge of HMO's, PPO's, Medicare, BC/BS and commercial restrictions.
• CPT & ICD9 codes and medical terminology knowledge.
• Experience with scheduling, registration, and billing in a medical setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day operation of the department's reception area.
• Schedules patient appointments and pre-registration duties.
• Verifies patient insurance and CPT/ICD9 codes on charge slips.
• Handles patient inquiries and provides customer service about Part A/B fees.
• Trains and orients new employees and monitors progress.
• Maintains physician credentialing with hospitals and insurance entities.
