Job summary

UCSF Medical Center is seeking a Practice Coordinator to serve as the public face of the Practice, supporting operations, scheduling, referrals, and patient registration across UCSF campuses. The role emphasizes patient service recovery, teamwork, and adherence to standards in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

The position requires strong computer skills, the ability to manage multiple systems, and excellent communication. Flexibility to work at multiple UCSF campuses is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with related experience; or college degree and 6 months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Fingerprinting clearance and cash collection eligibility if applicable.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel; ability to navigate multiple patient records systems; long computer sessions.
• Analytical, prioritization and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, both phone and in person.
• Strong writing, organization and documentation skills; familiarity with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Represent the administrative team as the public face of the Practice.
• Support practice operations and customer service recovery/intervention efforts.
• Assist with patient facing service, registration, scheduling, referrals, eligibility, scanning, and billing tasks in APeX and related in-baskets.
• Maintain routine clerical operations and communications; adhere to UCSF standards.
• Collaborate with administrative, clinical and management teams; adapt to changing priorities.
• Work at any UCSF campus as needed and scheduled.
